A terrible thing happened at the worst timing possible.

In a way, I feel like now is the time to spend my time efficiently with school. I've been getting really good grades lately, im actually surprising myself with some of the test scores I'm getting back, so thats good.

I woke up this morning thinking that I have so much to do. I think I've always had so much to do, but I'm realizing it more now. I'm keeping myself occupied, and it's helping.

I can't wait to leave the U.S. and hopefully venture off to Japan next year. More excited than ever.

Today, I witnessed Death.

Today around noonish, Cindy Brian Shela & I were eating at Ten Ten dimsum restaurant in Cerritos, when a man at the table behind us had a heart attack. He fell back in his chair and onto the floor. Everyone just watched as he was given CPR by another onlooker. The police came first and then the paramedics. After performing cpr and trying to stabilize him for 15 minutes, they announced him as being 'gone.' It was such a surreal moment for me. That life can be taken away from us so quickly .. and that I witnessed it. I wondered what his last thoughts were .. and I thought about his family who thought they were going to see him come home after work; his wife getting a call that her husband had passed away during lunch, and her trying to explain to their children that Daddy was never going to come home. I had chills for the longest time =/

Baby, I can't help it. You keep me drowning in your love.

I have not had the time to blog because there has just been event after event for me!
First, some good news. Puppy has come home from the hospital on Saturday and has recoveredPUPPY 100%! Yayy, it felt like so long .. being apart from him. but he's acting like a normal puppy now, playful and happy. That same Saturday was the Usuals annual Summer Olympics `09 hosted by Minh-An and Phil. Congratulations guys for another successful turn out! I would talk about every detail but it's 2am and I have class in the morning, so I'm just briefly summarizing. Blue Team had Brian Sung, Eric Carnaje, Shela Ly, Cindy Kha, & I. Red Team had Janine Cabanilla, Kent Codilla, Andrew Chong, and Thomas Sung. The Red team won by a looooong shot; we had a chance to catch up, but we didn't complete our final challenge of the scavenger hunt on time. Oh well, next year =] Who's planning that btw ?! hahaha.
Helaina flew back to Rhode Island Saturday night. We'll miss you little eccentric girl ! haha. Hmm, what else... I've been to Uncle Tony's birthday dinner, Auntie Helen's birthday dinner, Summer Olympics, Garrett's going away bbq, Buono's pizza (in the Westside; SO YUMMY) with dadddy.. and so on. Such a busy few days ! Luckily, summer school is ending THIS Thursday. summer olympics 09
Alright, well .. I know for sure that tomorrow there is going to be a quiz or an essay in anthro class so I better get to studying!

Oh, quick story. This morning, Brian called me to tell me that he was ready to pick me up to go to school (I carpool with Brian & Thomas to LBCC everyday) .. and I was so confused I was like, "Why are you calling me so damn early?!" .. Haha, that's cause I thought it was Sunday!! He was like, "I'm here to pick you up for school." lolol, I got ready in 7 minutes. Ahhhhh, never again! What happened alarm clock? I know I set you last night. .. I probably unconsciously kept snooozing it. Bad me ! Okay, I have to get my rest. Goodnight world :]

Shin Sen Gumi ! :] & HAPPY 7 MONTHS BRIAN! <3

Sunday is my 7 Month Anniversary w/Brian! (my my, time goes by so faaast!)
I'm busy all day Sunday so we decided to celebrate today by eating out somewhere we haven't gone before. Shin Sen Gumi, this Japanese restaurant in Gardena near Marukai, was soooo yummy :) (first time going there!) 今日、ひるごはんはおいしいでした!There are two different themes of Shin Sen Gumi; Ramen or Yakitori. Brian & I wanted ramen but we went to the yakitori one which was really good. It was kind of embarrassing because we were the first ones to get there (they're open from like 11-3, & then from 5-11) @ 5 and they would repeatedly welcome us, and shout things to eachother and bow to us. Brian and I just kept smiling and laughing to ourselves; it was quite funny!

002 We had ..
1 order gyoza -- i love gyoza
4 orders quail egg wrapped in bacon -- Brian told me to try it cause Brian Ly made it, and it was bomb! :)
001 rice balls w/salmon -- yummy; Brian complimented on how soft the rice was haha
1 fried chicken -- This was my main meal and it was delicious! I'd get it again!
1 chicken bowl -- Brian's dish! :) Yummy.
1 shiitake mushroom wrapped in bacon -- I am a fan of mushrooms and bacon, so this combination just worked for me.
1 shrimp - Brian's shrimp. He said it was good, idk i didn't try it.
1 order meatball -- it was good, not the best meatball I ever had, but still had wonderful flavor.

Before we went to Shin Sen Gumi we also went to Marukai; we normally ONLY go on a weekday 00 , so when we visited today, it was like a whole different store; much more lively with food samples left and right. We bought Tako Yaki -- which basically means, fried octopus. It was good, i'd personally rather eat something else, but since we were both starving, it kept us alive until shin sen gumi, ahaha.

Thanks for a wonderful day date, Brian! I had a lot of fuuun :)
